BRCC are delighted to announce that building work has commenced on the three-lane practice net facility at Coutances Way.
Builders moved in today following a bad weather delay last week. Peter Taylor was immediately on hand to oversee the commencement, and added "What a great day for Ben Rhydding. A club is only as good as it's facilities, and now we will be the envy of many as we build on recent achievements. Go the Rhydding!"
The nets are designed to optimum ECB regulations, and each lane represents a different speed of wicket. They will cost upwards of £41,000, fundraised by club members. I spoke to a delighted Robin Snook, the chairman of the 'Net Fund Committee' - "What a great achievement to get this far. We now need to go one further and complete our gargantuan fundraising effort, and support club events such as the Race Night on March 5th. Please contact myself, or Jess Ellis-Bryett for details."
Work will be complete, and time will be allowed for the nets to 'bed-in' in time for the senior season, which begins on April 16th.
